Top Rock Climbing at Fareham Leisure Centre

Top Rock is a indoor clip and climb that’s fun and thrilling in equal measure. There are 20 routes to take on that vary in difficulty in an environment that’s full of colour, exciting shapes and new experiences.

Perfect for climbers of all ages and abilities, Top Rock is ideal as a family activity, as a birthday party activity, or as an alternative way to stay active either by yourself, or with friends and family. In fact, trying your hand at Top Rock is a great way to meet new people.

Top Rock sessions will last 60 minutes which includes check in, briefing, harnessing, and climbing. Please arrive promptly at start time shown on booking. Under 18’s must have a climbing registration form completed by an adult prior to taking part. Climbers must be 4+ years to take part in this activity.

What is Top Rock?

Top Rock is a clip and climb indoor adventure that’s now available at Fareham Leisure Centre. Combing fun, thrills and convenience in equal measure, the key thing that sets it apart from other climbing experiences is the ease with which it can be enjoyed.

What are the Benefits of Top Rock?

As well as the fun and the thrills you get from climbing all the 20 routes available at Fareham Leisure Centre, there are a number of other reasons why you should give Top Rock climbing a go.

There’s the ease, for starters. You just get clipped on to the auto-belay, start climbing and, once you get to the top (or as high as you dare) just abseil back down. Climbing is also a fantastic whole-body workout, building strength all over your body, but especially in your core, legs and arms and is fantastic for your cardiovascular fitness too.

Who can Enjoy Top Rock Climbing?

Thankfully, just about everyone can tackle the Top Rock challenges. As long as you’re aged four plus and weight less than 150kg, then you’re free to enjoy climbing. Just clip on, and get climbing! It must be noted, however, that all climbers aged under 16 must have an adult with them at all times.

We’ll also need you to wear loose, comfortable clothing, with comfy, closed-toe shoes with plenty of grip on them such as trainers. If you’ve got long hair, then we’ll need you to tie it back, while head scarves need to be secured and no jewellery can be worn while you’re climbing, unfortunately.

How Long do Sessions Last?

Each session lasts 55 minutes, with an extra five minutes allocated to put on and remove your harness. We advise you arrive around half an hour before your slot time for the safety briefing and harness fitting. Once that’s done, you can enjoy 55 minutes of uninterrupted climbing.
