Mid Suffolk Leisure Centre, which is operated by Everyone Active in partnership with Mid Suffolk District Council, is celebrating after receiving an industry award.
The centre was awarded the status of ‘excellent’ by Quest, the UK’s Quality Scheme for sports and leisure earlier this year, after undergoing a rigorous inspection and interview process.
On Tuesday 20th February at the annual Quest awards ceremony, Mid Suffolk Leisure Centre, was recognised for achieving the second highest score in the country in 2017 for a leisure facility in the Quest Plus category.
The award is assessed on core modules including, community outcomes and customer experience and insight. Mid Suffolk Leisure Centre offers a wide-range of activities that encourage everyone in the local community to improve their health and wellbeing. The Quest report highlighted that the centre delivers an ‘excellent’ service that engages with children and older people across the district.
These activities include chair-based exercise classes and walking sports for the older members in the community, and a fantastic Play World and Summer Play World facility for youngsters.
The centre boasts a 60-station fitness suite, which houses the latest cardio-vascular and strength training equipment, and a 25m, six lane swimming pool that offers a number of aquatic activities including award winning swimming lessons.
“We are honoured to receive this award. It recognises the extensive range of activities that we offer to encourage Stowmarket’s residents to lead healthier and more active lifestyles. We look forward to continuing to work with the Council to encourage even more people across the district to become more active, more often by delivering high-quality facilities and a variety of activities.”
“This is a fantastic achievement by the whole team at the Mid Suffolk Leisure Centre and I would like to pass on my congratulations to everyone involved. We encourage all those who live and work in Mid Suffolk to lead more active lives and leisure centres play a huge role in helping people to do this. For those who haven’t yet been along to see for themselves what is on offer, we hope they will now be keen to see these first class facilities and start to enjoy the many benefits of taking exercise.”
