Funding

SLM works with a variety of different bodies to secure funding to provide additional facilities and activities both within and outside of our leisure centres. Funding can be secured from a number of different sources including the National Lottery, National Governing Bodies and central Government.

Activities that fall outside of the traditional leisure centre programme will often require additional funding. SLM will work with local communities to determine what is needed and identify relevant funding streams to enable the activities to be developed.

An example of how we work with NGB’s such as Swim England can be found at Plymouth Life Centre where the funding from Swim England enables us to provide a programme of diving excellence from novice to elite participants.

SLM runs a very successful apprenticeship programme funded through our training partner and central Government. This has enabled us to recruit and train over 320 participants which will help develop the workforce of tomorrow.
